You choose your preferred stages, subjects and electives and we'll create a personalised Home School Program just for you
The Programs are created on Microsoft's OneNote, allowing you to keep all your records together in the one location
Our system is simple: Weekly Topics (summarised Syllabus Points) are given over four terms for each subject. You simply record which resources you used for the activity (weekly entry) and record any comments or feedback given about your child’s progress (weekly, per term or yearly) – it’s your choice. It’s that simple.
Home School Programs are designed to be flexible and adaptable, allowing you to focus on your child’s special needs, interests and preferences. You can focus on a single topic for one week, but you could also cover the topic in a couple of hours, a day, or over a longer period, depending on your child's abilities and interests. You can add, remove or modify Weekly Topics to suit your child’s learning preferences. You can print the Program if you prefer to keep a handwritten copy. The Programs are extremely versatile and can cater to both gifted children as well as children with disability.
K-6 subjects include: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, HSIE, PDHPE, Creative Arts.
Years 7-10 subjects include: English, Mathematics, Science, History and/or Geography, plus two electives from: PDHPE, Food Technology, Music or Visual Arts. Upon purchase, you will receive the Subject Selection document.
Note: you need a PC with Microsoft Office (2016 or later) or Microsoft 365 subscription to access the Program.
Ultimately, the choice is yours, as it should be. Home School Programs allow for multiple approaches to help you support your child to grow in confidence, knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and values.
We give you tips for teaching styles, reporting guidelines with sample responses, textbook recommendations and links to some of the best free syllabus mapped educational websites. Also included are links to syllabuses, home school registration, home school support groups, sample student work and grades, and recommended English syllabus reading texts (with summaries) so you and your child can choose your own learning path. You have the freedom to choose what and how you would like your child to learn.
You can choose to adopt a structured approach, where you use NSW curriculum workbooks or textbooks (many come with digital interactive features). We have put together a specially chosen booklist for K-10 that covers learning areas of the Program. Please note that all K-10 resources are purchased separately so you are able to choose your own resources if you wish.
We also give you links to a small handful (that’s all you’ll need) of recommended and NSW syllabus aligned educational websites. The best ones are free!
Alternatively, you can adopt a looser, more improvised approach, where you follow your child’s interests and use the Program like a checklist to tick off the skills and knowledge learned along the way. For example, while cooking, get your child to use the scales to weigh ingredients, and convert cups to millilitres or grams (Maths), read aloud and follow instructions in the recipe (English), discuss the production of food used in the recipe (HSIE/Geography), observe the changing states of properties during the cooking process and note safety precautions (Science), talk or write about the benefits of healthy eating (English and PDHPE). And don't forget the wonderful learning opportunities provided by special projects, excursions, discussions, documentaries, music, dance, sport, cooking, gardening - the sky’s the limit!
Home School Programs allow your child to learn their way while your planning and reporting is minimised and hassle-free. Neat, simple.
The Home School Program and Record Keeping system comes with everything you need to start home schooling your child. Upon purchase, you will receive simple instructions on how to access your Program. All resources arrive digitally (usually within 1-3 business days).
System Requirements:
PC with Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 subscription (OneNote is available as a download from the Microsoft Store if not already installed.)
Mac users: The Program is not compatible with Macs. However, we can create a Mac compatible online version of the Program. Please contact us to discuss your options.
